Co-op stores enjoy awards success

Scores from ‘mystery shopper’ visits decided who was crowned winners during a special evening at Lincolnshire Showground, with scores peaking at 99 per cent ratings.

Sleaford Co-operative Travel branch in Southgate won Cruise Branch of the Year in the travel section. Navenby food store earned a silver award in the food awards and Woodside Post Office, part of the Lincoln Road Co-op store in Sleaford, won a gold in the Post Office of the Year category.

Manager of Sleaford Travel branch Paul Herring said: “This is the second time we’ve won the cruise award and we’re very proud. We have a passion for cruise. It’s a unique product and every ship and itinerary is different. We’re known in our town – if you want a cruise, you come to us.”

Michelle Young from Woodside Post Office said: “The three of us who work in the post office make a really good team. We’re always looking for gaps in the market and in our service and trying to fill them. This isn’t our first award – we also won a Sleaford Standard award for our customer service, so we must be doing something right.”

Danielle Monaghan, manager of Navenby Food Store, said: “It feels amazing, I’m really excited for the team and what we’ve achieved. It’s all because we work together. They’re proud of what they do and I’m proud of what they do. The customer service side of things is paramount in order to achieve great results.”

Colleagues from across the Society also celebrated personal training and university qualification achievements, from foundation to masters degrees, and staff who had gone above and beyond the call of duty were honoured with Gold, Silver and Bronze Employee of the Year Awards.
