Lidl relocated to Barnard Avenue three years ago and the site, owned by Tesco, has stood empty ever since.

Now Brigg MP Andrew Percy has taken on a new initiative that could possibly see the Lidl building used by some of the town’s community groups as a venue for concerts and shows.

The town has lacked a large entertainment venue since the closure of the old Corn Exchange some 25 years ago.

Brigg Operatic Society has used Westmoor Hall at The Vale Academy to stage their autumn production. There would be possible scope to use the Lidl building as an indoor market as well.
