Family tyre-fitting business in Spilsby celebrates further expansion
A growing family business, based in Spilsby, is celebrating another major milestone after fresh investment and a notable, new appointment.
Fernlea Tyres, an independent tyre-fitter, has bought a new mobile fitting van and welcomed former Kwik Fit centre manager Aidan Kelleher to the team.
The appointment marks an exciting new chapter for owner Simon Hewitt, who says he has expanded Fernlea Tyres by putting quality workmanship, reliability and personal customer service at the heart of the business — an approach reflected in its consistently excellent five-star customer reviews.
Aidan brings significant tyre-industry experience to Fernlea after his previous role with Kwik Fit. He will join Simon on the road, helping the business increase its capacity and serve even more private, commercial and fleet customers across Lincolnshire.
Aidan’s arrival coincides with the addition of the new, fully equipped fitting van, representing a significant investment in the continued growth of the company.
Simon said: “Fernlea Tyres has grown because we genuinely care about the service we give people. Whether we're helping somebody at home, at work or stranded at the roadside, we want them to feel they've received a professional, friendly service from somebody they can trust.

Aidan said: “I’m pleased to be joining Fernlea Tyres at such an exciting point in its growth. I’ve spent a number of years in the tyre industry and I’m looking forward to bringing that experience to the team and helping Simon develop the business further.”
Fernlea, of Main Road, West Keal, provides mobile tyre-fitting, puncture repairs, tyre inspections and roadside assistance, travelling directly to customers at their homes, workplaces or roadside.
The business is also expanding its support for local companies and commercial vehicle fleets, helping them reduce downtime by bringing tyre services directly to their vehicles rather than taking vehicles off the road to visit a traditional tyre centre.
Despite its continued expansion, Simon is determined that Fernlea will retain the personal approach that has helped establish its reputation across Lincolnshire.
