A Boston-based hospitality business is celebrating after being named Hotel Group of the Year by a UK consumer champion.

The Coaching Inn Group was singled out for the title among large hotel chains by the not-for-profit organisation Which?

The business – which has 36 locations across England and Wales, including Boston’s White Hart Hotel – scooped the honour thanks to an 81 per cent Which? customer score.

This number combines overall satisfaction and likelihood of recommending, and follows a survey of customer stays between July 2023 and July 2025.

The next highest customer score was InterContinental – a global enterprise with more than 200 hotels to its name – on 80 per cent.

As celebrations took place at the White Hart Hotel, chief operating officer Adam Charity said: “Besides all the comforts and facilities we offer at our White Hart Hotel, this fantastic success is also due to the always welcoming, can-do attitude and great team spirit enjoyed by our team.

“This accolade reflects the group’s commitment to delivering high-quality, experience-led stays in historic inns across the UK, with more than 1,000 rooms across 36 properties.

“Our ethos has always been to unlock the potential of locations, blending heritage and charm with modern luxury to create unique and memorable stays. Our inns are rooted in local communities and designed to offer hospitality from the heart, and it’s fantastic to see that recognised by guests themselves.”

In naming The Coaching Inn Group as Hotel Group of the Year for large chains (meaning it has more than 30 sites worldwide), Which? said: “Set in historic buildings in attractive market towns or other scenic spots, The Coaching Inn’s hotels are a cut above. They’re not all pubs. The Manor in Blakeney, for example, is a 17th-century manor house with beautiful grounds, while the Castle of Brecon in Powys was once a Norman Fortress. What ties them together is a high-quality stay, great food and five-star customer service.

“One guest told us: ‘Hotels are usually in an interesting and historic building in a good location. Staff are also interesting (and interested), there’s good parking, good food and a lovely atmosphere.’”
