Southview Holiday Park has welcomed the frontline workers from Skegness and District General Hospital and Pilgrim Hospital, Boston.

The holiday park has been left empty since the government instruction in March to close, apart for a handful of key security and maintenance staff.

Parkdean Resorts, who run it, took the decision to contact the local healthcare trust to offer free accommodation on the park to NHS key workers, in need of a convenient place to stay at the end of their shifts, or living with any vulnerable or at-risk family members.

So far three key workers have booked to stay for a combined total of 47 nights and an equivalent value of £3,773 - but Parkdean would like to help further by urging other frontline NHS workers in need of a place to stay to get in touch .

Rob Warner, Operations Director for Parkdean Resorts said: “The vast majority of our Southview team lives in the local area so they’ve been keen to give back to the local community and in particular to support NHS staff who have been doing such an incredible job throughout the Coronavirus crisis. As our own small way of showing our thanks and appreciation for all they have been doing, we were happy to offer our park facilities for free to support key workers.”

Parkdean Resorts employs almost 200 people at Southview Holiday Park. Earlier this year, the company announced an investment of more than £550,000 in the park, to renovate facilities and upgrade existing accommodation and refit the restaurant as part of an £80million investment in its business across Britain.
