Green light for 73-home development in Ancaster

Plans for a 73-home development on the outskirts of Ancaster, near Sleaford have gained consent from South Kesteven District Council.

National property consultancy Carter Jonas has secured outline planning consent on behalf of Nightingale Land for the residential development of up to 73 homes off Wilsford Lane in Ancaster.

The consultancy says the circa 15.5-acre (6.3-hectare) site will deliver 22 affordable homes and a Biodiversity Net Gain of 22.8 per cent and includes extensive community amenities such as informal green space, allotments, and a local play area with equipment.

The development will also open up publicly accessible views westwards to the site of the nearby Roman fort of Ancaster, a Scheduled Monument.

James Stone, Associate Partner, Planning and Development, at Carter Jonas Cambridge, commented: "This consent demonstrates how well-designed residential schemes can deliver meaningful benefits for local communities. The development will provide much-needed housing, including a significant affordable element, while enhancing biodiversity and creating new green spaces for residents to enjoy."

John Chorlton at Nightingale Land added: “We're delighted to have achieved this planning permission. Working closely with Carter Jonas, we've been able to design a scheme that responds sensitively to its surroundings, which will deliver homes and open spaces that will benefit the village for years to come.”

Jonas will also act on behalf of the landowner to market the opportunity and sell the land to a housebuilder.
