The opening of the new Heron Foods store in Ingoldmells is to go ahead.

Originally it was postponed postponed because of the fast-changing health situation regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19). However, the company has now revised the date to Thursday, April 9.

For the safety of all customers and staff, the store will be applying social distancing rules on remaining two metres apart, both inside and outside of store.

Heron Foods’ managing director, Tony Dobbs, says, “We’re asking all of our customers in stores to keep a safe distance from other customers and from our colleagues.

"In all of our stores, we’ve put limits on the number of paper items people can buy to two, so essential items stay on shelves for longer.

"We would

ask people to arrive throughout the day to avoid long queues forming in the morning, and to pay by card at the till if you can.

“During this difficult time, all of our team are continuing to work tirelessly to ensure the shelves are stocked on opening day and the basic essentials are

available for as many of our customers, for as long as possible.

"We would like to ask that you bear with us during this period of uncertainty and reassure you that demand in the market has been unprecedented. We thank you again for your patience during this difficult time.”
