Morley Brown Howden (MBH), of Main Ridge West, has joined Chattertons and Wealth Management to form Chattertons Incorporating Morley Brown Howden.

MBH was established in Boston in 1792 at the site it still occupies today in Main Ridge West.

The Chattertons name, meanwhile, has been associated with legal services in Lincolnshire since the mid-19th century; today, it has eight sites in the county and Newark, including one in Boston’s Wide Bargate.

MBH directors Paul Howden and son Daniel, along with all the team at MBH, have made the move.

The merger has created one of the biggest law firms in Boston, featuring the largest conveyancing and private client teams in the town.

The combined firm will continue to operate from their existing sites in the town.

Paul Howden said: “I have been pleased to be part of Morley Brown Howden for the last 17 years and particularly since my son Daniel joined the firm some 14 years ago. We have had to consider the future of our firm and how best to continue to provide our clients with the personal and dedicated service that they have come to expect.

“We believe that the merger with Chattertons is in the best interests of our staff and clients. Chattertons are a long-established firm who share our core values and the merger will enable us to offer more services than we currently do.”

Richard Ludlow, chief executive of Chattertons Wealth Management and deputy chief executive of Chattertons Legal Services, said: “We are pleased that Paul, Daniel and the team at MBH have joined us. It will enable us to create a stronger combined range of legal and financial services to clients and shows our commitment to Boston. We are very much looking forward to working together and building on what MBH have already achieved.”
