In need of knitters – Pet food business near Boston appeals for help with charity fundraiser

Laughing Dog, part of Fold Hill Foods, of Old Leake, plans to auction off the finished items via its social media channels to raise funds for the Guide Dogs.

Last year, the business raised £5,000 for the cause, helped by the sale of blankets knitted together from squares of wool. This year, it has received so many squares from staff and customers that it needs help to knit them together.

Rowina Caesar, a member of the Laughing Dog marketing team, said: “It is a privilege to have customers that share our passion and dedication to fundraising for the Guide Dogs, who are working hard to ensure that essential Covid-19 resources and support is available for people living with sight loss.

“We feel this is a great opportunity for the community to come together for a great cause and hope to continue running auctions of hand-crafted blankets alongside our naturally wholesome treats, Guide Dog and KONG toys.

“We are also keen at this time to ensure that we are supporting animal food banks and dog shelters too, and will be making donations of food parcels to other charitable causes too.”
