The Seasiders Summer Party event saw families enjoying a day of activities at Tower Gardens.
Stagecoach East Midlands hosted the event recently to celebrate the colourfully decorated Seasiders, alongside charity partner Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children's Charity.
The day included a visit from Hattie the Community Playbus and a ‘Wheel of Fortune’ with various prizes, magic shows, face-painting, and a treasure hunt.
It also saw the official launch of this year’s Seasiders Story Book - ‘The Seasiders and the Giant Footprints’ – which centres on the mystery of giant footprints discovered in Skegness.
Matt Cranwell, Managing Director of Stagecoach East Midlands, said: “The Seasiders Summer Party is always huge fun – children and parents come from far and wide, and our team put in a tremendous effort to spread happiness in the community.”
Stagecoach East Midlands donated £1000 direct to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, which supports seriously ill children and their families, plus an additional £1104.95 raised on the day.
Sophie Fanning-Tichborne, director of fundraising and communications at the charity, added: "Our partnership with Stagecoach East Midlands has been truly marvellous in helping us reach new audiences. Funds raised through the Stagecoach Seasider event will go directly towards supporting the nurses, children and families we work with.
“A huge thank you to the Stagecoach frontline teams who keep the UK moving - we're so grateful for their enthusiasm and support.”
The total Seasider fleet now stands at 12: Scoop, Rocky, Sandy, Shelly, Candy, Pierre, Salty, Sunny, Teddy, Milly, Rolly and Sweetie.
Throughout August, children under 16 can travel for free on Stagecoach buses.
