Jobs and training fair set to take place in Sleaford this week

A recruitment and careers fair is being staged at North Kesteven District Council chambers in Sleaford by the local branch of Job Centre Plus.

The fair will run from 11am - 2pm on Thursday, June 15 and will provide access to employers seeking applicants in areas including food, security, manufacturing, hospitality, health care, construction, business administration and child care.

There will also be the Army and RAF attending to give advice on recruitment, recruitment agencies, advice for those who want to set up own business (including offering start-up grants) and many education and training oroviders offering apprenticeships and various training courses.

This is a free event open to anyone looking for employment, apprenticeships or training.

The job fair is described by organisers as a way to help people who are looking for work or training and helps businesses to find a suitable workforce.

Prior to the event opening there will be guest speakers giving advice and information from 9.11am - 10.55am to employers about what is on offer and is happening in Lincolnshire for businesses, the new Apprenticeship Levy and the new Apprenticeship Service, disability awareness and grants.

* Some of the employers attending are: NHS, Waldeck Engineering, Tulip, Moy Park, Stance Security, RAF, Army, SHD Composite Materials, 24/7 Recruitment, Prestige Nursing, Sparkles (Cleaning), Prince Build, Tesco, Lloyds Bank, NKDC, New Business Solutions, Brook Street and Hays Recruitment.

Training providers attending are: AG&I (UK) (Training, Apprenticeships and Traineeships), Riverside Training, Spalding (Childcare – Apprenticeships and Training), Nacro (offering vocational courses to young adults 14-16, 16-18 year olds), Lagat (Apprenticeships and Recruitment), Lincoln College (Apprenticeships and Training), Boston College (Apprenticeships and Training), Futures and Princes Trust.

The Volunteer Bureau will also be there.
