The 40-bed art deco County Hotel on North Parade was built in the 1930s on a prime seafront corner location.

In spite of speculation the sale follows the arrival of the Premier Inn further along the seafront, agent Christie and Co says there are coach tour bookings well into 2020, with net sales of £578,598 for the year ended October 31 2018 and further a net income of approximately £19,500 per annum from a mobile phone mast.

The agent states: "The County Hotel is a detached, four-storey art-deco style property, which was constructed in the 1930s and occupies a prominent corner position adjacent to the sea front in the Lincolnshire town of Skegness.

"This well established business is principally coach tour based and we are advised that the tour business will continue to be booked to the end of the 2020 season, greatly benefiting new owners of the business.

"Skegness remains the most popular seaside resort for the people of the East Midlands and the County Hotel occupies a prominent corner position on North Parade, a short walk from all of the town's main amenities.

"The profitable business could easily continue to trade as a hotel or alternatively it may be suitable for change of use to residential (subject to the necessary planning permissions). There is also the possibility of developing on the car park (STPP), which has been explored by our client in the past."
