Sills & Betteridge Solicitors, of Main Ridge West, have just recruited a new lawyer to its family team.

Lindsay Tasker brings with her a wealth of experience in criminal defence and family work.

She has a special interest in child cases including disputes between family members and where there is local authority involvement, and domestic abuse, having worked very closely for many years with the charity Women’s Aid.

Originally from Lincolnshire, she studied law at the University of Nottingham, and the Bar Vocational Course at Nottingham Law School before moving to Wales in 2004 and qualifying as a solicitor in 2007.

She joins Sills & Betteridge from Watkins & Gunn where she was a partner.

In 2012, Lindsay was shortlisted for the Family Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year at the Legal Aid Practitioners Group Awards, and has since become a Resolution accredited specialist in domestic abuse and private children’s law, and a member of the Law Society Children’s Panel, enabling her to represent children via their court-appointed guardians in care proceedings and complex family law cases.

John Mitchell, head of Sills & Betteridge’s family department, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Lindsay back to her home county, and are sure she will be a considerable asset to the family team in Boston.”
