Potty About Pets, in Mercer Row, is expected to be closed for around ten days (from yesterday), meaning it will not reopen until February 11 at the earliest.

The business owner, Meg Johnson, told the Leader on Tuesday morning: “We have posted notes through doors, put posts on social media, put signs on the door, and we have changed the voicemail message. We deliver to see many people and vulnerable people, and now we have to shut.

“I am devastated. With it being a family business it’s so difficult.”

Speaking directly to her customers on social media, Meg added: “We are so sorry for the inconvenience caused.

“We hope that once we are open again (when everyone is legally allowed and well enough to do so) that we will see all our valued customers again.

“We would like to thank all our customers for the support you have given the shop particularly through these trying times.”
