The grand reopening of Mablethorpe’s market has been postponed for one week, due to adverse weather conditions.

A spokesman for Mablethorpe and Sutton Town Council, which runs the weekly market, said: “Due to severe weather warnings of heavy rain for Thursday, it has been decided to reschedule the reopening date to next Thursday, June 25.”

Mayor of Mablethorpe and Sutton, Councillor Carl Tebbutt, said earlier this month: “As the coast has been particularly badly hit by the lockdown with almost half of the summer season having gone, our local traders will be desperate to see you back through their doors and to their stalls.
