National acclaim for Bircotes curry house

The Indian restaurant was nominated by Bassetlaw MP John Mann this year after previously nominating other Bassetlaw restaurants.

Restaurants were visited by secret judges and the Paradise restaurant succeeded in achieving first place in the East Midlands.

John Mann and Bassetlaw Council Chairman Coun David Challinor presented the restaurant with their certificate on Monday.

Mr Mann said the restaurant’s quality is “superb”.

“It is a remarkable achievement. The restuarant has only been open for 18 months and they were competing against restaurants that have been open for 30 or 40 years,” he said.
