Lincolnshire Co-op has bought and converted the former newsagents on the High Street and will be moving Heckington Pharmacy, which it owns, from premises across the street into the new facility alongside its foodstore.

The pharmacy will open to customers on Saturday at 9am.

The new site is designed to provide better access for patients and customers, extra parking for customers of both Co-op outlets and features a bigger consultation room, seating and dispensing area. The current pharmacy on High Street will close as normal at 6pm on Friday.

Work has included demolishing parts of the former newsagents to create a bigger pedestrian footpath to the food store car park, as well as widening vehicle access. A flat has also been created above the retail space.

Lincolnshire Co-op’s Head of Pharmacy Alastair Farquhar said: “The new outlet will not only offer NHS services such as Medication Use Reviews, New Medicine Service, flu vaccinations and smoking cessation but we will also be offering health checks, prescription collection from local surgeries and a delivery service.

“The move will also bring our pharmacy and food store closer together. We hope this will create a convenient hub for shoppers and members.”
