The ‘Developing a Managerial Mindset’ programme, which is being run in collaboration with the Rural Lincolnshire Enterprise Hub and SkillsReach, aims to support employers to develop their staff’s managerial skills, enhance leadership qualities and ensure workforce resilience.

For the first time the programme is being delivered in East Lindsey, giving businesses easier access to the programme which will equip the district’s workforce with vital leadership skills they need either for a role they are already in or a future management role.

As well as gaining practical management skills, course delegates also have the opportunity to form networks with other emerging business leaders – helping support their ongoing development and gaining important contacts for the future.

East Lindsey District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Market Towns and Rural Economy, Councillor Adam Grist, said: “It’s great to see this programme getting underway and I’m thankful to the University of Lincoln for working with us to bring this course to East Lindsey businesses. I’m sure the delegates will find it invaluable and the skills they learn will be of real long-term benefit to their businesses and the district.”

Pro Vice Chancellor, Director of the Lincoln International Business School Dr Craig Marsh added: “I am delighted we are working with East Lindsey District Council to offer our exciting ’Developing a Managerial Mindset’ programme in Louth this spring. Having successfully delivered this programme for managers for the last two and half years in Lincoln and Grantham, it’s fantastic, as a civic university to be able to extend our offering to another area of the county.”

Two of East Lindsey biggest employers, Micronclean and Mortons Media Group, explained why they’re supporting the programme:

Nyle Chapman, Learning and Development Officer at Micronclean, said: “Over the last few years Micronclean has introduced a stepping stone structure for employees within the business who wish to progress as a leader and manager. We feel that with our internal Future Leader Internal Training Enterprise (FLITE) programme we have been able to support employees at a Team Leader level with a level 3 diploma in CMI leadership and management. When our Directors were introduced to the Developing a Managerial Mindset programme it highly complimented our aims and ambitions to support supervisory/ newly appointed management through a Level 5 CMI qualification.”

Mick Gill, HR Manager at Mortons Media Group, added: “Mortons Media are delighted to send key colleagues to this high quality leadership development programme. Even better is that it’s available locally to our base in Horncastle; reducing travel times and enabling a local network of key managers to learn together and hopefully remain in contact after they have qualified.”
