Plans for part of existing garage to be converted into dog grooming business

Plans have been submitted to convert part of an existing garage into a dog grooming business.

Applicant Victoria Hall has applied to East Lindsey District Council (ELDC) for the change of use of part of an existing domestic garage to form a dog grooming business at The Gate House, Thurlby Road, Bilsby, near Alford.

Under the plans, the southern bay of the garage will be converted into a commercial dog groomers while the northern bay will be retained as a domestic garage.

The site will be accessed from the existing shared driveway. There will not be any external changes to the building.

A spokesperson for Lincs Design Consultancy said: “The proposal will create a modest business which will open three days per week, 9.30am until 3pm.

“The site does not have any close neighbours with the closest dwelling being over 40 metres away and separated by mature landscaping. The proposals therefore will not harm local amenity.”

The applicant said it’s initially aiming to groom three dogs per day.

ELDC will assess the application and make a decision at a later date.
