Plans submitted to build a MOT test centre in Mablethorpe

Plans have been submitted to build an MOT test centre in Mablethorpe.

Applicant Tim Avison has submitted plans to East Lindsey District Council for the extension of existing commercial buildings to create the facility at Unit 9, Enterprise Road, Mablethorpe.

The existing site consists of a block of 10 industrial units which are arranged in two rows, along with access for parking.

The site is located off Enterprise Road, within the Golf Road Industrial Estate in Mablethorpe.

Documents submitted by the applicant said: “Internally, the existing southern unit will have internal works carried out to provide an office and a viewing area for the MOT facility.

“This will be achieved through the installation of new internal partitions, while the existing accessible WC (toilet) will be retained and utilised as part of the scheme.

“The external appearance and materials have been selected to match the surrounding units, ensuring visual continuity and minimal impact on the street scene.”

The applicant said that access to the site and parking will remain the same to ensure that the development will not “adversely affect the existing access arrangements for neighbouring units.”

East Lindsey District Council will consider the proposal and make a formal decision at a later date.
