Rail service ‘suspended’ between Skegness and Sleaford

Rail services between Sleaford, Boston and Skegness have been suspended after a signalling fault at Boston Railway Station this afternoon (Wednesday).

Services between Sleaford and Boston have been completely suspended, with bus replacements in place.

East Midlands Trains say that a ‘limited’ rail service between Boston and Skegness is “being planned”, but is also advising those with rail tickets to take Stagecoach buses between the two towns.

“We regret that we are currently unable to run services between Sleaford, Boston and Skegness because of a signalling incident at Boston station,” said a spokesperson for East Midlands Trains.

“The service is suspended between Sleaford and Boston, with trains terminating and restarting at Sleaford from and to Grantham, Nottingham and Lincoln.

“Rail replacement buses are being organised to run.

“Rail tickets are also being accepted on Stagecoach Route 7 buses - these depart Skegness Interchange at 10 minutes past the hour towards Wainfleet and Boston and they depart Boston Bus Station at 40 minutes past the hour towards Wainfleet and Skegness.

“A limited rail service between Boston and Skegness is also being planned,” they added.
