Recruitment firm sees its staff develop

Staff at a recruitment firm in Boston supplying workers to the agricultural and horticultural sector have '˜grown' in expertise on the back of a range of training courses.

Operations manager at Local Link Recruitment Jan Pawlikawski has been awarded a certificate by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health in association with local training provider Lincsafe after successfully completing a four-day Managing Safely course.

The course is designed to give managers the skills they need to tackle health and safety issues at work.

In addition to Jan, co-ordinator Anzela Turkina has completed an ISO 9001 quality management training workshop focusing on improving and maintaining high standards in all aspects of business, while senior administrator Anita Krajewska is undertaking a Certificate in Professional Development: Investigating Modern Slavery programme.

Launched last year by the Gangmasters Licensing Authority (GLA) in partnership with the University of Derby, the course has been designed to help businesses identify labour exploitation and non-compliance with the GLA Licensing Standards and was developed after the introduction of The Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Managing director Iwona Lebiedowicz said: “It has been a great start to 2016 for Local Link Recruitment. Normally winter is the quietest time of the year for us but we have enjoyed a very busy couple of months. I am very pleased to see our people grow with the business and we would like to congratulate Jan, Anzela and Anita on their achievements.”
