Previously, he has appeared at Newmarket Racecourse, but this is his first Rasen gig.

“I’m really looking forward to appearing at ‘An Evening at the Races’ this Summer. I have always had a fantastic time performing to the audiences at the race courses so it’s my pleasure to be asked to return,” Sir Tom said.

Before his evening show, the course will host six horse races. Tickets will cost from £28.

“This summer’s appearance at Market Rasen by Tom Jones will be the biggest concert that the racecourse has ever staged,” said Amy Starkey, Regional Director east of jockey Club Racecourses.

“It is a real coup for Market Rasen and Lincolnshire and, at the Jockey Club Live, we are delighted to be bringing such a global star to the county. Tom Jones is a complete performer and always sells out at his racecourse concerts.”

“Tom loves horseracing and music coming together because, as he says himself, ‘win or lose you still have a great time.’”

The event will be one of 22 jump racing meetings Market Rasen is staging in 2015. They follow an £800,000 upgrade at the course.
