CRG Homecare, which has offices in Sleaford and Boston, has today revealed it plans to recruit more than 250 new care workers in a bid to meet the growing demand for its services, across the UK.

The company, which provides support to individuals living within the comfort and security of their own homes, has seen a marked increase in the need for its services across Sleaford, amid the emerging COVID-19 crisis. As its service users, many of who are elderly and classed as high-risk individuals, rely on care workers to assist them in their day-to-day lives.

CRG Homecare aims to recruit the extra care workers over the next three months and is appealing to the general public to come forward – including those that may have unfortunately lost jobs due to the current crisis. CRG Homecare is on the lookout for people to join teams across Sleaford and Boston to help a variety of people with personal care, domestic support, respite care at home and general companionship. Applicants need not have any prior experience as full training and shadowing program will be given.

Your role will involve: providing personal care – washing, bathing, toileting; preparation of meals; light domestic duties and visits out into the community.

There will be afull training and induction programme, free uniforms and there is even a £250 ‘refer a friend’ bonus scheme if you encourage others to join up as well.

You must be able to work as part of a dedicated team, be responsible and able to work unsupervised, be reliable and punctual.

The company is one of a number of sectors that have seen a need to recruit extra staff due to increased demand. Supermarkets have announcedMarch was their busiest ever due to the panic buying experienced.

○ In related news, the government has moved to reassure care workers about protective clothing.

According to North Kesteven District Council, as long as neither you nor the person you are caring for has symptoms of the virus, there is no requirement for carers to wear personal protective equipment above and beyond the usual gloves and aprons and good hygiene.

This is the reassurance from Public Health officials. Official guidance can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-residential-care-supported-living-and-home-care-guidance
