Stagecoach star ‘Julie’ from Skegness cleans up at awards

Julie Armitage, a cleaner for Stagecoach East Midlands at their Skegness depot, was nominated by staff and customers for her efforts in transforming the working facilities and bus station for Skegness employees and passengers.

The Stagecoach Star received ‘Highly Commended’ recognition for the Outstanding Performance Award,

sponsored by Alexander Dennis, at the event which took place on Thursday 20 February at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.

The annual ceremony, which is in its 11th year, recognises shining stars amongst the 24,000 Stagecoach employees across the country. The initiative celebrates individuals and teams who have delivered above and beyond in key areas including service to customers, safety, health and well-being, environment, community and

innovation.

Since joining the team last year, Julie is regularly commended by her colleagues as well as Stagecoach East Midlands customers for enhancing the Skegness depot to a high standard of cleanliness and making a huge difference to the state of the facilities. She is a valued member of the team who is known for being loyal,

thoughtful and caring to everyone.

Matt Cranwell, Managing Director of Stagecoach East Midlands, said: “We are thrilled that Julie has been recognised as one of our ‘Stagecoach Stars’ at this year’s event. Her hard work, strong work-ethic and friendly attitude makes Julie a real testament to the fantastic team in Skegness and a very worthy winner of this

commendation.”

To reward her efforts, Julie was presented on the night with a trophy, cash prize and an overnight stay in Edinburgh with her guests.
