The coffee shop and fast food restaurant will be based in Lincoln Way on the Fairfield Industrial Estate, next to the Shell petrol station.

The operator of the coffee shop had previously been unnamed in planning documents, but this week it was finally revealed that Starbucks would be taking the reins.

A spokesman for the company told the Leader: “We look forward to opening our doors to customers in Louth in the near future and will be in touch once we have more specific plans to share.”

According to planning documents submitted last year, it is anticipated that the new coffee shop would create between 15 and 25 new jobs.

Work has recently started on the site, and McDonald’s confirmed last month that they intend to open their new restaurant later this year.

At the time, a spokesman for the restaurant confirmed: “The restaurant will create at least 65 jobs and we look forward to the investment it will bring to the area.”

The decision to approve the restaurant and coffee shop was made in November 2019.
