The ‘heartbroken’ mother of a young child who attends Puddle Ducks pre-school in Alvingham has helped raise more than £1,000 to support them through the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic.

Emma Jacklin set up the online ‘Go Fund Me’ page a few weeks ago, shortly after most schools and nurseries across the country were closed down.

Emma wrote: “I am currently heartbroken that my youngest son will no longer be able to attend his favourite place in the world, Puddle Ducks, for the foreseeable.

“Like every business at this dreadful time there is so much uncertainty. I cannot sit by and not help support a place that means so much to me.

“Any parent that has experienced the ‘Puddle Ducks effect’ first hand will know that this isn’t just a nursery. It’s family, it’s love, kindness, flexibility and exceptional care which has been built up over the years by the incredible Tori and Jack and their wonderful staff.”

• More than £1,100 has been raised so far. Visit www.gofundme.com and search for ‘Puddle Ducks’ to donate.
