Paul Cooper, of Boston, and Christine Pickwell, of Louth, will be stepping down from their roles at Ringrose Law from the end of April.

Their departure will mark the end of an era for the firm, with the pair having been partners in the business since the 1980s.

Senior partner Paul began his career in private practice in 1979. His early years in Boston were spent working for Frost Gunning and Co, which merged with Grocock and Staniland in 1984 to form Ringrose and Co – now Ringrose Law.

He was made a partner in Ringrose Law in 1986 and has taken on management responsibilities ever since.

From May, John Knight, partner and head of the personal injury and medical negligence team, will step up to the role of senior partner.

Paul said: “I have seen a lot of changes over the last 40 years and it has been fantastic working with a company which embraces these changes. I wish all the partners, staff and John the very best of luck for the future and thank them for all the support over the last 40 years!”

Christine, a partner based in Boston, has been practising in family law since the early 1980s and was the first female partner since the merger of Adie Pickwell and Ringrose and Co in 1989.

While she will be stepping back from the partnership, she will remain as a consultant and continue in her role as family mediator and head of the Ringrose family mediation department.

She said: “I thoroughly enjoy my role as family mediator and look forward to growing this department for the firm. Good luck to Paul, he will be deeply missed and deserves a full and happy retirement.”

John said: “I would like to add my personal thanks, and those of the rest of the partners, to both Paul and Christine for the tremendous amount of service they have given to Ringrose Law over the years. Their contribution to the success of the firm has been invaluable.”
