Ultra-rapid EV charging goes live at new Aldi store
A new ultra-rapid EV charging facility at the recently launched Aldi store in Market Rasen has gone live.
The site, installed by EV charging operator Zest in partnership with site developer Morbaine, features four charging bays, each capable of delivering 160 kW of power, enabling drivers to recharge quickly and continue their journey with ease.
Located on the A46 at Gallamore Lane - the main road connecting Lincoln and Grimsby - the chargers serve both the new Aldi supermarket and the adjacent Starbucks drive-thru, providing a convenient stop for shoppers, commuters, and visitors alike.
The launch brings much-needed charging capacity to an area currently underserved by rapid and ultra-rapid charging, says Zest, with only a handful of comparable chargers available within a 20-mile radius.
Graham Adams, Director at Morbaine, said: “We’re delighted to partner with Zest on this development. Adding ultra-rapid charging to the site enhances the offer for customers and futureproofs the location as demand for EV infrastructure continues to grow.”
Zest is one of the UK’s fastest-growing investor-operators of public access EV charging infrastructure. Based in Leeds, the company works in partnership with local authorities and the real estate sector across the UK.
Robin Heap, CEO at Zest, said: “Installing EV charging infrastructure in locations people already visit every day, whether they’re grabbing a coffee or doing their weekly shop, is key to making the switch to electric simple and convenient. By integrating ultra-rapid chargers into everyday destinations, Zest is helping drivers recharge easily while they go about their day, while also supporting communities with cleaner air and lower emissions.”
