Up to 500 jobs to be created at new Boston food manufacturing site
Up to 500 new jobs will be created by the opening of Europe's biggest plant-based food production site in Boston.
Plant & Bean are set to start manufacturing from the new facility early next year..
The development represents a big investment by a global firm in Boston and will create around 500 new jobs.
It will be located on the site of the old Tulip factory, on New Hammond Beck Road.
The 55,000 tonne capacity site has been described by Plant & Bean as the “first step in the company’s journey to establish an industry-first, global, plant-based meat manufacturing platform”.
Business news site Bloomberg said the facility would see Boston become 'Europe's fake meat capital'.
Plant & Bean is the meat-free division of Brecks Foods and has a 20-year proven track record of developing plant-based meat products for market-leading brands and retailers.
Cllr Nigel Welton, Deputy Leader of Boston Borough Council and Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, said: “This is a development that will really put Boston - and this is just the beginning..
