The Women in Rural Enterprise (WiRE) group is to hold its first meeting on September 15 at Abbey Parks Farm Shop, East Heckington. The group aims to help women with small businesses with setting up, running and marketing their businesses.

Organiser Jenny Dickinson said the need to offer support to women in business had been recognised ten years ago and WiRE has grown into a national organisation supporting rural business women.

Jenny, a Personal Stylist, says female entrepreneurs come up against barriers including lack of confidence, isolation and lack of business support. WiRE aims to help develop and grow their businesses; including offering opportunities to network and do business.

Jenny said: “The meeting will provide an opportunity to meet in an informal and pleasant setting to discuss the issues which affect them and draw upon the experiences of others.”

Meetings will alternate between Abbey Parks Farm Shop and Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln. Details: call 07793 682260 or visit www.wireuk.org/networks/lincoln-wire-network.
