Another load of donated tools heading for Africa from Rasen area
Market Rasen Rotarians were in springtime decluttering mode last week.
Volunteers loaded another large van with a huge amount of unwanted tools and equipment destined for refurbishment by TWAM (Tools with a Mission) before being sorted into tradespersons packs to be sent to countries in Africa.
In 2025, 23 containers of donated goods were sent to various countries including Zambia, Malawi, and Zimbabwe. This enabled 50 livelihoods to be created every day of the year by the actions of TWAM and the kind people that donate their unwanted tools. Many organisations in the UK have also benefitted from donations giving support to community gardens.
Locally, Rasen Rotarians were pleased to receive a large donation of unwanted tools and sewing machines from the technology department of De Aston School, who were reorganising their activities in that area. This swelled the collection from kind people from all over the area who were having a tidy-up, disposing of unwanted goods and changing their activities.

This consignment included an industrial sewing machine, an embroidery machine complete with all instructions and accessories, many sewing machines and computers, numerous electric tools and hundreds of garden, builder’s and mechanic’s hand tools.
