Blossoming friendships at Newton House care home

Residents at Newton House were delighted to welcome back the Wellbeing Ambassadors from Poplar Farm School for a special intergenerational bingo morning.
The visit brought together residents and students for an morning filled with laughter, friendly competition and meaningful conversation. Over refreshments, both generations enjoyed spending time together, with friendships continuing to blossom at each monthly visit.
Sonia Fairhurst, General Manager at Newton House, said “It is always such a pleasure to welcome the Wellbeing Ambassadors into our home. Seeing the joy on our residents’ faces as they connect with the younger generation is truly heartwarming. These visits are about so much more than fun games, they create meaningful relationships and strengthen our community bonds.”
Intergenerational initiatives like this play an important role in promoting wellbeing and reducing social isolation, while building strong links within the local community.
Newton House extends sincere thanks to Ebony and the Wellbeing Ambassadors for the kindness and positivity they bring, and looks forward to continuing the partnership.
