Elmwood House Care Home hosts spellbinding Halloween celebration with Boston Dancing Witches

HC-One’s Elmwood House Care Home in Boston, Lincolnshire, was transformed into a hub of Halloween fun as residents, staff, and guests came together for its annual spooky party. The event featured music, dancing, and magical entertainment, creating a joyful and memorable afternoon for all.
The home was beautifully decorated with Halloween-themed touches, setting the scene for a celebration full of colour and character. Residents joined in the fun by wearing light-up cat ears and witch hats.
Musical entertainment was provided by local favourites Boots n Strings, whose nostalgic renditions of classic hits had everyone singing along and dancing. Their performance brought warmth and camaraderie to the event, with the dance floor buzzing throughout the afternoon.
A highlight of the afternoon was the arrival of the Boston Dancing Witches, a local dance group known for their spirited performances. Attending purely out of goodwill, the Witches captivated the audience with their elaborate costumes and lively routines.

Their energy and charm brought smiles to everyone’s faces, including 96-year-old resident Fred, who was whisked onto the dance floor by one of the Witches, proving that age is no barrier to enjoying a magical moment.
The party also welcomed distinguished guests, including the Mayor of Boston, Barrie Pierpoint, and the Mayoress, Pam Love. The Mayor had the honour of announcing the winner of Elmwood House’s pumpkin competition, adding a special touch to the day’s festivities.
Nicola Hardy, Activities Coordinator at Elmwood House, said: “It was such a joyous event that couldn’t have been made possible without the hard work of everyone at the home. Thanks to the generosity of the performers and support of the local community and colleagues, we were able to provide a wonderful experience full of cherished memories for our residents.
I want to thank Mayor Pierpoint for joining us and putting great big smiles on all our residents faces that will be there for a long time after the decorations come down.”
Cllr Barrie Pierpoint, The Worshipful the Mayor of Boston, said: “Pamela and I had a fantastic time visiting Elmwood House Care Home for their Halloween event.
“A lot of time and effort had gone into the party by the dedicated staff to make it so fun and memorable for residents and their guests. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and it was our pleasure to announce the winner of Elmwood House’s pumpkin competition.
“Thank you so much for inviting the Mayor and Mayoress to be part of your festivities and I hope our visit made the event extra special for the residents."
