St Mary’s Church welcomed everyone to explore what it has to offer at the open day event designed to help people learn about aspects of this community place of worship and the many activities it offers for all the family.
Visitors could look around and learn about everything from bell ringing to the church’s history, and there was lots for children too.
Church group administrator Debbie Knight the event went very well. “We had over 200 visitors through the door and everyone really enjoyed the day.
“The history tours went well and Banovallum Brass played some excellent pieces of music for us.”
The open day is seen as an opportunity to celebrate all that happens through St Mary’s, thanking the community for its support and to consider how to support the church into the future.
There was a treasure trail, music, exhibits and refreshments, with free admission.
