George, who lives with autism and cerebral palsy, faces daily physical challenges. His condition affects the entire right side of his body, limiting the use of his right arm and weakening his right leg. Despite these difficulties, George was determined to complete the walk, which took nearly five hours, all in support of a cause that is close to his family’s heart, the Greenfingers Charity, which build magical gardens for the UK’s children’s hospices.
George was joined by his father, Marc, who pushed a wheelbarrow throughout the walk, offering a uniquely fitting mode of transport should George need to rest along the way. The walk started in Harby Park, Newark and took in the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside before George conquered Lincoln’s notorious Steep Hill up to the Cathedral Quarter and the finishing line at Lincoln Castle.
