Lincolnshire care resident designs prize-winning Christmas card

A care resident in Lincolnshire has combined his artistic flair with festive cheer to turn his artwork into an award-winning Christmas card.
An individual supported at No.12 High Street, a specialist residential service for adults with learning disabilities and autism, won a national festive competition, beating entries from across 95 Cygnet Group services.
The Cygnet Social Care resident claimed first prize in the Cygnet Christmas Card Competition 2025, which saw service users and residents display their creativity and artistic talent in a bid to create the most impressive festive design.
No.12 High Street took home first place in the Cygnet Social Care category with the winning entry titled ‘Rocking Robin’.
Natalie Sewell, Unit Manager, submitted the creative masterpiece on behalf of the individual supported at the Brant Broughton service.
She said: “When we were notified that one of our residents had won, it was just fantastic. I have been proudly showing off his entry to everyone that supported him to create this design. His mum has found it so amazing.
“We are all so pleased for him as he worked well and stayed on task, with support from our team, to complete his card. When he finished his design, his face lit up with such a smile to show how pleased he was with his card. What an achievement for him to win! Everyone at Cygnet Social Care is very happy with the results.”
Entries were judged by colleagues across Cygnet Group who voted for the winning cards out of 95 creative and diverse designs.
Natalie said: “Here at No.12 High Street, all of the individuals we support take on an active involved role in lots of Cygnet competitions. They enjoy every step of the creative process and it’s great to see their festive visions brought to life in their unique Christmas cards.
“It’s important that all of our residents are given the chance to share their ideas and make their own choices, using their communication aids and through constant support from our staff. We are so proud to have a winner at our service and it’s even nicer that we had a runner-up too.”
