Newton House hosts first Parkinson’s Café to support local community

Newton House proudly hosted its first Parkinson’s Café this week, creating a welcoming and supportive space for those living with Parkinson’s and their loved ones, in support of Parkinson's UK.
Guests enjoyed refreshments, wordsearch activities and meaningful conversation in a relaxed environment designed to encourage connection and peer support. The café provided an opportunity for attendees to share experiences, build friendships and access informal support within their local community.
Sonia Fairhurst, General Manager at Newton House, said: “We are incredibly proud to launch our first Parkinson’s Café and to provide a safe, welcoming space for members of our community. Living with Parkinson’s can sometimes feel isolating, so creating opportunities for connection, conversation and shared experiences is so important. It was wonderful to see everyone engaging, supporting one another and enjoying the day together.”
The initiative forms part of Newton House’s continued commitment to promoting wellbeing and strengthening community links. The team looks forward to developing the café further and welcoming even more attendees in the months ahead.
