Remember loved ones and support Child Bereavement UK at the North Kesteven Snowdrop Event

The district council is encouraging residents to take part in the North Kesteven Snowdrop Event, in support of Child Bereavement UK.
In partnership with the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, the annual event is being held at Whisby Nature Park on Moor Lane in Thorpe-on-the-Hill on Sunday, February 22, from 12pm-3pm.
Attendees are invited to plant a snowdrop in remembrance of loved ones who are no longer with us and help raise funds to support bereaved families. Following the planting, people can explore Whisby Nature Park, enjoy the onsite bistro café and play facilities, and reflect and connect with others who may share similar experiences.
With a minimum cash donation of £2, you will receive a snowdrop to plant in a dedicated area of remembrance, and volunteers will be on hand to help with planting. For more information, please email [email protected] and follow www.facebook.com/SnowdropWalk.
The snowdrops have been kindly donated and sponsored again by Pennells Garden centre in South Hykeham and all proceeds from the event will support Child Bereavement UK.
Child Bereavement UK supports families and educates professionals when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, or when a child is facing bereavement. The charity trains 7,000 people a year to help them better understand the needs of grieving families.

Chair of council, Coun Chris Goldson, who will be attending the event, said: “As poignant displays of snowdrops are planted by those impacted by child bereavement, it is an honour to partner with Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust again this year to be able to provide this time and space for reflection and remembrance.”
