School flag competition raises the standard
Woodhall Spa Rotary has announced the winning design in the village’s first flag design competition.
The project invited pupils from St Andrew’s Primary School in the village to create a flag that represents the spirit, heritage and community pride of Woodhall Spa.
After receiving an impressive 39 entries, a joint judging panel made up of representatives from Woodhall Spa Rotary Club and the Parish Council voted to select the most outstanding design.
The winning flag was created by Jack Roworth, whose artwork captured the village’s character in a bright, imaginative and meaningful way. His winning design has now been professionally enhanced and transformed into the official Woodhall Spa village flag.

A presentation assembly was held at the school on Tuesday December 9, where Rotary President Jenny Clarke and member David Charles presented Jack with a £20 book voucher and revealed the finished flag.
Runner-up was Evie Roworth and Highly Commended honours went to Jack Redford, Erin Cook, Elsie McKie and Oscar Shawyer.
The school leadership team and the children’s families have all been involved too in making this a truly community-driven project, centred around creativity and pride in the village.
The new flag will be raised for the first time at a public flag-raising ceremony on Saturday, December 20 at 10am, near Millennium Gardens. Jack will attend with his family, along with representatives from the parish council, district council, Rotary President Jenny Clarke and invited community guests.
Everyone is warmly welcome to join this special moment as Woodhall Spa celebrates its newest village symbol and the creativity of its young people.
