Stagecoach East Midlands ‘fills the bus’ across Lincolnshire for local children’s charity
Stagecoach East Midlands has carried out a tour of Lincolnshire, gathering gifts and donations, from kind-hearted local businesses and residents, for the Cash for Kids ‘Mission Christmas’ campaign.
‘Mission Christmas’ supports disadvantaged children, who would otherwise wake up on Christmas morning without a gift to unwrap, by collecting gift donations.
Stagecoach East Midlands has now helped to facilitate a ‘Fill The Bus Tour’, with a bus and members of the team gathering gift donations from local businesses and members of the public. On board, the Cash4Kids mascot, Courage the Cat, and Santa Claus were able to spread some festive cheer!
Generous local businesses that donated gifts included Marshall’s Yard in Gainsborough, Hay’s Travel, Elite Signs, Lincoln College and Smyths Toys in Lincoln, Blue Anchor and Embassy Theatre in Skegness, Ringrose Law, Comet Hotel and Baths Hall in Scunthorpe, and Heron Foods in Barton-upon-Humber.
Over the previous week, the Fill The Bus Tour took in various locations around Hull, and the tour is continuing around all Stagecoach East Midlands’ own depots, to allow generous members of the Stagecoach team to make their own donations. Last year, Stagecoach East Midlands’ team donated a total of 670 gifts, for children in our region to receive a gift from Santa.
Matt Cranwell, Managing Director of Stagecoach East Midlands, said: “It has been a wonderful time, really showing the true spirit of Christmas. I am always hugely impressed by the generosity of our customers and the businesses across Lincolnshire.
“I am very proud of my team, who continue to make significant efforts to come together to support the Fill The Bus Tour, as well as to make their own donations. We are grateful to everyone who supports and contributes towards Mission Christmas and wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”
