The run, which involved dozens of tractors wending their way from the village of Ludborough and across the Wolds countryside, celebrated its 18th birthday in style.
And a grand total of £3,291.25 was raised for the Marie Curie charity, which provides end-of-life care for people with a terminal illness.
The Cook family, who organised the run from Caudwell’s Yard, beamed: “We’re so pleased we managed to smash our £3,000 goal. The amount raised equates to about 143 hours of end-of-life care to those who need it most. Just amazing.
"It was an absolutely brilliant day – fantastic from start to finish. Thanks to everyone who registered to join us and decorated their tractors.
"Also our caterers and those who volunteered their time to help us at the yard and at Hall Farm in Stainton le Vale, where we had a stop-off during the run.
"Thanks also to those who waved at us along the route and all those who threw some change (and notes!) into our collection pot.
"Thankyou so much to everyone who played a part. All this wouldn’t have been possible without you.”
As well as the dressed-up tractors, many in yellow, which is the colour of Marie Curie, there was a bumper raffle, for which a sparkling array of prizes were donated by local businesses.
Those prizes ranged from two-night stays at holiday venues and tickets to the theatre to money-off vouchers, a cheese hamper, tickets to a fireworks display, a breakfast bundle and even a bungee jump.
The tractor run, which started at 10 am and returned back to Ludborough by 4 pm, is now firmly established as one of the most popular events on the Louth farming community’s calendar.
It cost £15 to enter a tractor, with prizes for the best dressed vehicle, trailer and driver.
The event was launched in 2007 by Paula Bruntlett and her husband, Gordon, who was a fitter at Caudwell’s.
Since Gordon died from a terminal illness nine years ago, Paula and farmworker Pete Cook have continued to organise the tractor run in his memory, with help from Pete’s daughter, Megan Hammond.
Pete said it is important to inspire future tractor enthusiasts so that the event will continue for generations to come.
