The Archdeacon of Stow and Lindsey, the Ven Mark Steadman, went along to the school to perform the blessing.

The whole school gathered in front of the window, which has been installed at one end of the school hall, for the occasion.

The Ven Steadman said: “The window will be a focus of reflection and will remind us to live our lives in the way God wants us to; in a way of peace.

“May it light up our school with the colours that come through it.”

The children worked with members of the Royal British Legion on the design of the window, which symbolises remembrance.

Amongst the poppies is a single daisy, to remember pupil Claudia Burkill, who died in 2014 at the age of 8, following a three-year battle with a rare brain tumour.

“The money for the window came from the Diocese,” said Nichola Allerston, head of school. “We have some money left over so we are looking to create more window designs for either side.”

Delightful addition

“I give my congratulations to all involved on such a beautiful addition to the school,” said the Ven Steadman.

“It is about the school’s values, which is fantastic.

“It has been a wonderful project that has brought the school and the local community together to create such a unique piece of art.”
