A new addition to Kirkby la Thorpe's outdoor area

The young learners at Kirkby la Thorpe Primary School are in for a treat as the school proudly unveils its new addition to the recently developed reception outdoor area. This exciting addition to the school's facilities is designed to enhance the early learning experience by providing a stimulating and safe environment for exploration and play.

The project, which began in response to the school’s commitment to offering developmentally appropriate activities for its youngest pupils, includes a variety of features aimed at fostering both physical and cognitive growth. The area boasts a bike track around the edge, a clamber stack and water and sand play stations, all aimed at encouraging children to engage with their environment in imaginative ways.

The development of the outdoor area also aligns with the school’s broader efforts to promote active citizenship and curiosity among its students. By integrating outdoor learning into the curriculum, Kirkby la Thorpe aims to nurture a love for nature and a sense of environmental stewardship from an early age.

The reception outdoor area is expected to be a vibrant hub of activity, where children can not only play but also learn foundational skills through hands-on experiences.
