Alford pupils awarded for subject success, hard work and resilience

Alford Manor House provided a fitting grand venue for a special celebration of pupils’ achievements last week.

Hard work, self-belief, respect and perseverance were all recognised at John Spendluffe Technology College’s awards evening.

Along with awards in each subject, from science and English Literature – to music and photography – pupils were also recognised in categories such as ‘courage’ and ‘resilience’.

“Last week we had a wonderful evening celebrating the achievements and successes of our students at the JSTC Awards Evening,” said Head teacher Simon Curtis. “A huge thank you to Miss Abbott and Mr Connor for their inspiring words and for reminding us of the importance of ambition, perseverance and believing in ourselves no matter where our individual journeys take us.

“Thank you also to Mrs Ramm, Chair of Governors, for helping to share the school’s achievements and recognising the tremendous work that takes place across our school community.

“We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our dedicated staff, governors and families for their continued support, encouragement and commitment to our students.”

“Most importantly, we celebrate our amazing students. Their hard work, effort, respect, responsibility and resilience continue to make us incredibly proud. Their achievements are a reflection of the determination and commitment they show every day. A huge congratulations to every award winner - and to every student who continues to strive, grow and achieve.”
