Australian adventure for students

Youngsters at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar, Alford, have been hailed as '˜fantastic ambassadors' after an educational visit to Australia.

Eight Year 12 students recently spent nine activity-filled days in Sydney.

Experiences included visiting two schools, where they gave presentations and observed lessons, taking in a performance of The Barber of Saville at Sydney Opera House, climbing Sydney Harbour Bridge, touring The Blue Mountains and having a lesson in surfing.

Head teacher Angie Francis said: “The students were fantastic ambassadors for the school and have grown enormously in terms of confidence and leadership acumen.”
