Brigg Academy building plan on track

Work on the new build at The Vale Academy in Brigg is progressing at a pace, unhindered so far by bad winter weather.

The £13.9m project, which is being financed by the Education Funding Agency, should be completed by December this year, with the school moving across in January, 2017.

The Academy is working with the construction company Galliford Try and all other stakeholders to ensure The Vale Academy has a building which provides for the needs of all students well into the 21st century.

“It is an exciting time to be a part of The Vale Academy,” said Vale Principal Nicola Williams.

The location of the new building, along with a change in access from Atherton Way rather than Grammar School Road, means any disruption to the daily life of the academy is being kept to a minimum during the construction.

The present school will remain in the current buildings throughout the entire new build process.

The new building is part of the PSBP (Priority School Building Programme) which is funded by the Education Funding Agency, a Government organisation.
