Children reminded to wear masks on Sleaford school buses after reports of students flouting rules

A Sleaford bus company has called for the town’s schools to clamp down on students flouting face mask rules.

Messages have been sent home to parents from St George’s Academy reminding them of the Covid-19 restrictions after Sleafordian Coaches bossed drew attention to the fact that some students are not sticking to the guidelines regarding wearing face coverings on public transport.

A school spokesman said in the message to parents: “This is more important than ever as cases of Coronavirus are on the rise.

“The bus company have their own CCTV and have today (Thursday) passed images of some of the students involved. Please rest assured that these individuals will be spoken to in person and given a verbal warning.”

The school adds: “Please could we take this chance to reiterate the guidelines regarding face coverings on public transport. Face coverings are to be worn at all times on the school bus. This includes getting on and off the bus as well as throughout the journey.

Students must not remove their masks whilst the bus is in motion.

“Failure to follow these guidelines may result in your child losing their bus pass.”
