The affected pupils are currently on Half Term holiday but have been advised to self-isolate up to and including Thursday, November 5.

In a letter sent out to parents today (Thursday), Headteacher Damian Davey said: “My apologies for contacting you during the holidays but we were made aware late yesterday evening that we have a confirmed case of coronavirus (Covid-19) at Huttoft Primary and Nursery School.

“We have followed the national guidance and have identified that your child has been in close contact with the affected child.

“Consequently, on advice from Public Health England, we must close your child’s bubble (Year 1/2) and in line with the national guidance your child must now stay at home and self isolate up to and including until Thursday, November 5; their first day back at school will be on Friday, November 6.

“Members of your household can do not need to self-isolate and do not need a test unless they begin to exhibit Covid symptoms.

“Of course, we cannot identify the child due to confidentiality and ask that you do not use social media to discuss the issue as this will only cause speculation and inaccuracies.

“If you require further information, please contact the school and do not ask other parents.
“Due to it being half term we are unable to answer your calls but if you have any further questions that cannot be answered online or through NHS 119 number please do not hesitate to contact me directly.”
