Crazy costumes for World Book Day
Staff rose to the occasion by dressing up as their favourite character from a novel for the day and at lunch time, the library was full of action with a World Book Day quiz.
Members of staff also conducted readings, with head of English, Sarah Peacock, reading an extract from The Wizard of Oz and deputy head Simon Porter a selection of short poems by John Hegley.

Hide AdBook-related food items were also on sale, think along the lines of the Mad Hatter’s tea part), with proceeds going to the National Literacy Trust – a charity which supports disadvantaged children’s literacy skills.
There was also a display of staff and student recommendations for a good read and during tutor time, students dropped everything to read for a while.
The focus was on dressing up at Grasby Primary School, Caistor Primary School and Rainbow Preschool at Caistor too.
Little ones at Binbrook Early Learners also dressed up as their favourite characters and took along their favourite books throughout the week.
Some of the children got crafty and made a book cover for their favourite book.
